Professor Piergiuseppe Agostoni is a cardiologist and a researcher. He is a Professor of Cardiology at the University of Milan and formerly an Associate Professor of Critical Care and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, US. He is the chief of the Cardiorespiratory Pathophysiology laboratory dedicated to heart failure at Centro Cardiologico Monzino in Milan. He is also head of the Units of Heart Failure, Clinical Cardiology and Rehabilitation, and Coordinator of the Critical Care Cardiology Unit of Centro Cardiologico Monzino.
He has authored more than 800 publications, including over 200 publications in international journals with an impact factor. Since 2005 he has been president of ISEIRE (International Society Exercise Intolerance Research and Education), now CPX-International. He is a recognized international expert in the field of heart failure and cardiovascular research, for which he has won numerous awards.
